My Baby is 21!

I can't believe it. My baby boy is twenty-one years old today! Which, as I pointed out on his Facebook wall, has to be impossible, as I am only twenty-nine. :)

Luke is such a great guy, and I'm so lucky to be his mom. When I am depressed, I want my Luker around because he always cheers me up. I call him my Barnabas because he has the gift of being a great encourager, just as the Bible describes Paul's friend in the book of Acts.

Luke is studying construction management at Ball State University, and he's hoping to get some hands on experience by working on some builds for Habitat for Humanity this summer.

We are driving up to Muncie tonight to take Luke out to dinner for his special day. Now I know what you're thinking. A college kid turns 21, and he's going out to dinner...with his parents? But that's the thing I've got to love about Luke. He's actually excited that we're coming up to visit him!

I made him this card today, with a little nod to the importance of this birthday. Yes, a bottle cap. ha ha! Luke's not one to drink, but he's so excited to finally be of legal age where he could order a drink if he really wanted to. Oh the milestones of youth!

{recipe: Engraved Greetings (SU), Circle of friendship (SU), Parisian Breeze papers, soft suede ink and card stock, crumb cake card stock, baja breeze card stock}

  1. Happy Birthday, Luke! That better be a recycled bottle cap and not one of those "artificial" crafty do-dads! You know me...just lookin out for that neglected bottle cap :) Man oh man...21! Have fun...all of you. xoxo
