All Saints Day

All Saints Day. 11/01/11. It's a good day to keep our thoughts on the eternal, with an eye to our heavenly home. This young Jedi would tell you "The force is with you, always." And so it is!

Here's a sweet little home, made with love. Perfect for my father-in-law and his wife, who will be celebrating their anniversary this week. Shirley Ann is a homemaker extraordinaire. She puts her heart into her home, and I know she'll appreciate this card.

I used two Papertrey Ink stamp sets (Love Lives here and Tintypes) and added a little bling with a small piece of glitter paper. I'm so glad I bought a sheet of this glitter paper on my last trip to Archivers. Sometimes, you just want to play with one sheet without the burden of owning a pack of papers that you may never use up. In this case, a little goes a long way.

Today, I will remember the saints who have gone on before me.

"I think of Paul and Silas in the prison yard,
I hear their song of freedom rising to the stars,
I see the shepherd Moses in the Pharoah's court,
I hear his call for freedom for the people of the Lord,
And when the saints go marching in,
I want to be one of them."

Sara Groves, "When The Saints"

Blessings on your day!

  1. We all have those moments when our faults and failings slap us in the face...and then realize, all is revealed to God...no hiding it from Him...we stand naked before God...who through forgiving eyes still sees beyond to the beauty. You are beautiful in God's eyes. You are beautiful in mine as well. I wanted to tell you thanks for our "table talk" at mom's...I wrote a song entitled Good Enough. I will have to share it with you this weekend since you inspired it. I love you.

  2. Another thing...about those so-called work friends. Anyone will tell you they rarely develop into lifelong relationships. Of all the jobs I have had (and Rudy for that matter)...no lasting connection remains when the job isn't there to unite us. Sad, but true.
