The Leftovers Challenge

Merry Christmas and Happy Boxing Day! I'm not exactly certain what one celebrates on boxing day, but here in our house, we celebrate the removal of the holiday gift boxes and leftover bits of ribbons and wrapping paper. This also coincides with the feast of Christmas leftovers...frosted cutout cookies, noodles, potatoes, homemade cheesy biscuits. Mmm, so good. So bad for my diet, though. I've got to get rid of these leftovers!

Today's Papertrey Ink challenge? Use up those leftovers! Leftover wrapping papers, ribbons, tags, whatever is waiting to be repurposed after Christmas. For today's card, I used this adorable diecut chipboard reindeer that was tied with ribbon to my new flannel pajamas.

I've been dying to use my new Background Basics Woodgrain stamp set from PTI. I paired it with Faux Ribbon (PTI) stamps and sentiment for a clean and simple style. This card has the Nordic look that was so popular this holiday season on everything from sweaters and blankets to gift wrap and greeting cards.

It's never too soon to get started on those after-Christmas thank you cards! I have a lot to be thankful for...a wonderful weekend spent at home with family. Such a blessing. Hope your holidays are blessed as well!

  8. It looks great! The reindeer has almost a wooden rocking horse rusticity to it which goes very well with the wooden background stamp.
