Let The Sun Shine!

Wow, that was a long coffee break! But I'm back to blogging today, ready to welcome a new month and a new spring!

I celebrated my 45th birthday on Tuesday with a trip to my local Starbucks, where I received a free birthday latte and bought myself this coffee mug. Actually, I'd bought one for my sister, Sue's birthday earlier in the month (Happy Birthday, Sue!). I loved it so much that I knew I had to have one for myself, too.

It has a warm sunny yellow interior, and it just makes me happy when I hold it in my hands. And when you find yourself solidly planted in middle age, you grab all the happy you can...with both hands!

Leap Day dawned in a glorious display of sunshine! Temperatures hovered near seventy degrees yesterday, and it was the first time this year that I've driven around town with the bug's sunroof open. It was a wonderful bonus day to finish off what is normally a pretty dismal month!

I was inspired by my sunny yellow mug this week. I grabbed my stack of papers from October Afternoon's Fly A Kite Collection and had some fun. I've been seeing a lot of yellow and blue combos lately, especially in home interiors, fashion, and paper crafting. I LOVE this combo, and dream of the day when I can have a blue and yellow kitchen. So cheerful!

Have you seen the lovely sunburst cards that are popping up everywhere lately? I made this one in a freestyle manner, using an oval to represent the sun. This sentiment from Unity Stamps was perfect for the card! Yes, I'm quite happy with how this card turned out!

Shine, my friends!
