The Wanderlust

It all began with a coat. More precisely, this trench coat. I fell in love with this on a recent shopping trip, made a few hints to my husband, and surprise! I got it for my birthday present!

I think it was the adorable ruffled collar that spoke to me. The minute I put this coat on, I had the sensation sweep over me.

Wanderlust.

Memories of a spring many years ago, a much younger self traveling the streets of London and Paris. Wearing a chic black trench coat.

In early spring, when winter loosens its grip and gives way to crisp sunny days, I find myself longing for adventure.

To see new sights, to try new things, to be a better me.

My niece, Katie, is currently spending a semester of college in Europe, living in Italy, popping over to London and Paris and Rome. Lucky girl! I so wish I could join her!

These days, I find my adventure in books. I can escape to a new world over a cup of coffee, curled into my comfy chair. Safe. But one day, I hope to add a few stamps to my passport again.

In the meantime, I made a card to channel some of that wanderlust!

I found this sheet of map paper in my Thrift Shop papers from October Afternoon. The stamps are some of my oldest and dearest Hero Arts stamps, circa 2001. Vintage, baby!

Are you planning an adventure? If so, please leave me a comment! I need to live vicariously through you! :)

Blessings on your Saturday, mes amis!

  1. Just got home from a week long trip to Key West. What a unique, sunny, fun and funky island! I have Key Westlust now ;^) My best friend was married on the beach and I was her Maid of Honor. It was a blast.
