Diner Love

Do you love diners? My family loves them! We try to avoid chain restaurants, preferring to explore the local gems instead.

Isaly's is conveniently located just a few doors down from my favorite local stamp shop, Stamp Fanci!

Look at those vintage colors!

We were there, bright and early, for breakfast one morning recently. I love a place that serves breakfast all day long. And coffee. Lots of coffee!

When you move to a new city, you have to replace all of your old favorites with new haunts. We went to a new diner after church this Sunday, and my husband said it may be a new weekend tradition. :)

Tell me, what's your favorite local restaurant?

  1. When I was a child, there were still a lot of Isaly's in the Pittsburgh area. I was in that Isaly's in July when I was home for a visit. My mom, sister, and I went to Stamp Fanci and I popped into Isaly's before we headed down to the pizza restaurant at the bottom of the hill. If you've not been to the pizza place, I recommend it.

  2. I forgot to say that I love diners. I eat in diners in New York City more often than any other type of restaurant.

  3. Francie, that's too funny! I hear that Isaly's was once a big deal in the 'burgh. My son's friend recommended this one to us. He's eleven, but I swear this guy will grow up to be either a food critic or a chef! LOL! Haven't tried the pizza place, but I will! Next time you're in town, you should try Totin's Diner on McKnight/19 on the way up to Wexford. It's a really cute place in a former auto shop...good food, too!
