Baking Up Christmas

After four corporate relocations and ten years of church swapping, I have learned a thing or two about finding a new church home. For starters, attending events where you don't know a soul can be intimidating, but it is also absolutely crucial to do it anyway. You say a prayer and hope that you will be welcomed. Sometimes it works and everything clicks in place, and sometimes it just doesn't.

We've been blessed to find a church home where they have welcomed us warmly, and we are confident that God has placed us right where He wants us to be.

Last night, I attended the women's Advent celebration, Baking Up Christmas. I had a wonderful night and met so many amazing women. I cannot wait to get to know them better in the days ahead!

The church fellowship hall is called the Solid Rock Lodge, and it is a lovely room with vaulted ceilings, a fireplace, cozy chairs and round tables. Last night, every table was decorated for the theme of the evening, with candles and lights twinkling everywhere. Music, devotions, cookie swapping, cookie eating...a good time was had by all, including this newbie!

What a joy it has been to find fellowship in our new church home! It has been the best gift of the holiday season.
