The End of Summer Blues

First, there was the bad corporate news announcement last week.

And then my oldest son got in a car accident on the Chicago turnpike while trying to get out of town. (No injuries, thank you, Jesus!)

And yesterday, poor Sam finally got in to see the doctor for his persistent cough, and it turns out he has walking pneumonia.

Can we just put a fork in this summer and call it done?

Today is the day the we officially pronounce the end of summer in our household.

Jemma is feeling the end of summer blues, too. Don't be sad, Jemma! Sam will be back from his first day of school before you know it.

This morning I am lighting the first Autumn candle and saying a prayer as we ease our way back into the new season. It may be too soon for some of you, but in our house it's arriving right on time.

Blessings, cafe friends!
