Target Dollar Spot Christmas: Holiday Decor

Good morning, cafe friends!

Yesterday, I confessed (once again) to my love of the Target Dollar Spot for great finds like holiday greenery. Today, I thought I'd show you some decor pieces I picked up, and how I used them.

For starters, do you see that sweet plaid fabric peeking out of the basket above? That's a place mat from the Target Dollar Spot. Isn't it sweet? Just a little punch of holiday color.

Target also sold some very trendy French linen style place mats and table runners. Seriously, that's the kind of thing you would see Joanna Gaines using in one of her Fixer Upper homes. Love it!

The Dollar Spot often features items from American Crafts, which has been around for years. I recall buying AC items from Archivers stores back in the day. This season, they were selling these super cute wood cut words. I thought of spray painting them, but decided I liked them plain.

I hung the word "noel" from a gingham ribbon off the top of the chalkboard, and then drew a festive wreath to surround it. Fun!

In this office/library, I hung the word "joy" from a plaid ribbon on this Smith and Hawken boxwood wreath.

So cheerful!

The angel sketch was a gift from my late niece, Sarah, many years ago. Sarah loved angels. She is with Jesus now, and I can only imagine what joy is hers to see him and the angels face to face! This sketch is a lovely reminder for me of the reason we celebrate this time of year.

I also found these cute card holders! The look like tiny vintage Ball canning jars filled with snow and a tiny bottle brush tree. I almost passed them by because I thought they were place card holders for a table setting. But then I thought of other ways to use them. They make a great prop for some of my vintage postcards!

I also added some fun items to my craft stash! Washi tape, garlands, ribbons. I plan on using that pom pom trim with a future needle art project. I probably won't use all of these items this holiday season, but I can have them on hand for next year.

By the way, I've discovered a handy use for all of that hoarded washi tape. I'm using it in place of Scotch tape for wrapping Christmas presents! Fun and festive! I also use it to decorate the envelopes of my Christmas cards.

I hope you had fun "shopping" the Target Dollar Spot aisle with me!

Blessings on your day, cafe friends!
