Walking the Neighborhood

Want to go on a walk with me? Tie up your walking shoes! It's a beautiful spring morning, and there is so much to see!

The community garden is just starting now. I'm not sure who planted the dandelions, though.

One of the many Little Free Libraries around town.

This one room school house is just adorable!

Blaess School was open for a tour this morning. The students were dressed in their adorable period costumes, listening to the teachers talk about simpler times. Later, I could hear the chime of the school bell.

The trees are in full bloom now, and the neighborhood has the distinct odor of Bradford Pear, which has the not so pleasant aroma of mushrooms and formaldehyde. But they really are lovely!

Here at home, the Star Magnolia is starting to drop its petals, and the dogwood is now blooming. It smells like daffodils and hyacinth in my yard.

I found the perfect place to plant tulips next fall...right by the front door, where the deer are too timid to approach!

In the evening, I walk Miss Jemma to get her tired and settled down the for the night.

The creek next door is glowing pink from the sunset. We often see a pair of Mallard ducks swimming here.

Birds are singing their evening songs, and the deer are making their nightly rounds.

Walking...a lovely way to begin and end the day.

  1. So nice to see your neighborhood! Just down the road, we have the smell of REAL mushrooms....we are near the mushroom capital of the world, LOL! (Seriously). Anyway, things are finally greening up in PA too! TFS!
