Birthday Bike
I am so happy that Hero Arts has paired with Sizzix to make some awesome new stamp set/die/embossing folder combos! As someone who was very slow to hop aboard that die cutting train, I am making up for lost time by adding to my collection. Hero Arts makes so many wonderful images for clean and simple stamping. I loved this set! Three different sizes of bike stamps, a few sentiments, and a nice triangle stamp and die to make those very popular pennant/ banner images that I'm seeing everywhere.
For this card, I decided to use some background papers paired with die cut images. The papers are from We R Memory Keepers. This was a super easy card to make. It looks a lot more complicated and detailed because of the papers.
But what if I were to use the stamps to make a One Layer Wonder card? Could I still make it fun and interesting? Of course!
I stamped some gingham grass (PTI) onto rustic white card stock, stamped the bike in Versafine Onyx, and then sponged on some blue clouds. Look ma, no layers!
Today is my biker husband's birthday! Tell me, which card should I give him?
I always say a prayer for two sets of parents on this day. I pray for the birth parents who gave my husband the gift of life, and I pray for the adopting parents who gave him a home. It's a wonderful story of sacrificial love during the holiday season.
Eight days until Christmas! Are you prepared? Yeah, me neither! Happy Saturday, friends!

Where did you find these? This would be perfect to make cards for my dad (who is also a cyclist!)
ReplyDeleteMy vote...card #2...love its simplicity. Wish that bithday boy a day of biking in the near future...for me...maybe with me. What? All things are possible in Him! I remember a warm 60 degree New Years a few years back. It could happen. Love to all.
ReplyDeleteTami, I got my two sets of Hero Arts/Sizzix sets at Archivers. I think they're debuting a lot more with the new 2012 Hero Arts catyalog that is releasing this month! These may also be available at Ellen Hutson's online store. I've put a few more of these sets on my Christmas list!
ReplyDeleteGreat thanks! I will be on my way to my parents in southern IN (near bloomington) on Friday and will drive right past the mall in Louisville- may have to make a stop!
