Happy Monday, cafe regulars! Today, I'm brewing up a fun entry in my bible journal, thanks to the Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink.
The challenge? Choose one of the challenges from 2015! I've always wanted to doodle with stamps, as Ashley demonstrated in MIM #203.
For this page, I used my Rosie Posie stamps, and added a little watercoloring, a little doodling, and a little splattering.
At the tail end of 2014, God put this message on my heart. Our pastor gave the suggestion that we should pick a "doxology", a personal song of praise, and remember to sing it throughout the year. This verse from Luke, part of Mary's Magnificat, became my doxology. And if you know the song from Chris Tomlin, then you know the tune I sang throughout the year.
"He has done great things for me" became my reminder, even when things didn't look so great. When we had to say goodbye to our beloved dog, Maggie. When we had to leave our friends and beautiful house in Pittsburgh. When I had to leave a job I really loved. When the Fixer Upper house was bringing me down. I held on to the promise. He has done great things for me!
But guess what? As I reflected on 2015, I could see that He had, indeed, done great things for us. A big job promotion for Ed. A trip with the boys to Disney. A house sold, quickly, and for a profit. Our son, John's college graduation. John's new job and new apartment in Indianapolis. Home renovations and transformations. An awesome new church family.
Great things! Bike rides in our new community. Sam's new friends and musical achievements. Luke's awesome finish time in the 5K. Country Living Fair with my sister. Trips to downtown Chicago. A fun day at Cedar Point amusement park this summer. A wonderful Christmas filled with family and food and fun.
Great things! The Lights Before Christmas at the Toledo Zoo. Christkindl Market in Downtown Chicago. Breakfast ALL DAY at McDonalds! Star Wars!
He has done GREAT things for me in 2015. And I know He will keep this promise in 2016 as well.
