Easter Jar

Tulips are such a cheerful flower in the spring. I've been buying myself a bouquet every time I see them at the store. Yep. Buying myself flowers. And you know why? Because I need them. For the cost of a grande latte that's gone in an hour, I can enjoy the message of hope that a vase of tulips delivers for an entire week.

These week-old Walmart tulips have seen better days, but I'm still enjoying them while I can. I thought they looked so sweet in this vintage Ball canning jar on the dining room table.

I pulled out the stamp set Friendship Jar series from Papertrey Ink and crafted an Easter card to mail this week. I had already stamped the jar on Vintage Cream card stock when I decided I wanted to use a doily for this card. But the white doily didn't quite match the softer color, so I sponged it very lightly with Fine Linen ink to give it a bit of a tea-stained effect.

Hope you are having a beautiful spring, cafe friends!

  1. I also spend my February-April buying tulips from Safeway etc because in beautiful green Oregon our grey rainy springs require that boost of color!

  2. I've bought myself flowers too! It's been many years but I think on my next trip to WM I'll be buying some tulips! I also have a jar just like that. Your card is adorable! Thanks for all your lovely posts!
