It may be silly, but I really wanted to leave a pretty garden to the new owners of our house.
The garden I inherited two years ago was filled with weeds and thistle over four feet tall. It took a lot of weeding and a lot of mulching and a lot of love, but I think the yard and garden looks pretty now.
These iris are such a deep and stunning purple!
The cat mint looks lovely set against the pink peonies.
Even the spring pansies are still looking their best!
I made a sweet floral card, inspired by all the shades of purple in the garden.
I just love love love the stamp set Fresh Cut Florals from WPlus9. These lilacs are so sweet and simple to stamp. I let them peek out of the newsprint panel, and tied it all up with a little green bow!

Tell me...what's blooming in your garden this week?
I don't think it's silly at all to want to leave a pretty garden. The previous owner of my childhood home left a yard that filled with springtime tulips and daffodils followed by peonies and irises. Roses of different varieties bloomed in summer. My mom added her touches, too, and it was so pretty. I hope the subsequent owners also enjoyed the flowers left behind for them.
ReplyDeleteYour card is lovely. That WPlus9 set is one of my favorites, too.
That garden sounds lovely! I love old established gardens.
DeleteThe flowers in your last yard are beautiful and so is your card! You may be enabling me, as I may need that stamp set! As I watered my flowers last night, a little toad peeked out from his home in the dirt in my garden. He was tucked in beneath my clematis that currently has 9 huge beautiful purple blossoms. I can take no credit for it other than planting it last year, but I am thankful it is so pretty! M.L.
ReplyDeleteI love clematis! Our home in Pittsburgh had a big beautiful trellis filled with them. And yes, you need that stamp set! It's one of my favorites!
DeleteBeautiful yard and gift for the new owners, Mary. The WPlus9 set continues to amaze me with its beauty. I may need to add it to my 15 sets of PTI florals.
ReplyDeleteLol! I know what you mean about those floral sets!
DeleteIt's not in my garden, but I have the most beautiful Fuchsia hanging by my patio (covered by the deck). The colors are striking! (Can you tell I might want that new PTI set?) I have that Wplus9 set, but I haven't mastered the lilac - I need to take time and work on that soon. It's a beautiful set! That's really nice and thoughtful of you to leave such beautiful flowers for the new owners!!
ReplyDeleteThat set with the fuchsia is so pretty, Sandy! Aren't you glad you waited and didn't cave in and buy Nesting? Now you have a set you will love and use often!
