Mary Rose's Cafe: The New Craft Studio Reveal!
I know what you've been waiting for...photos of the new craft studio! Well, your wait is over. Today is the day! Lots of photos in this post, so I hope you enjoy!
I really could never have hoped to find a house that had a designated craft room. Seriously, what are the chances? This space feels like it was made just for me!
Hell-o, built-ins! Again, what are the chances that someone who drives a Pumpkin Spice Subaru would end up with a Pumpkin Spice colored craft room? I LOVE it! And the shelving from IKEA that came with the house? It's perfect!
Tons of storage for stamps and papers, felt and thread. Room for my paper crafting and my needle art, too!
At first, I wasn't sure if my aqua and lime green accessories would go well with the orange wall. And then, when I started to put it all on the shelves, I loved the color combo!
The long expanse of counter is great! I need all the flat surfaces I can find. But I wasn't thrilled with the fact that you could see all the stuff underneath.
So I went shopping at Walmart, and found these adorable cafe curtains for $10 a pair. I bought some boxes of heavy duty sticky Velcro and hung the curtains from under the counter to make a nice skirt.
Would you look at that? The curtains are aqua, lime green and orange. It was meant to be!
I love it!
I purchased the orange stool when I was staging the house in Pittsburgh. And now, it works perfectly in my craft room in Michigan!
I love the IKEA Raskog carts. I have one for my ink pads, tapes and glues, and embellishments. The other cart is now my sewing cart. My friend, Beth, told me how easy it was to turn over the top basket and convert it into a rolling sewing table. Perfect!
A future sewing project for the new cottage. More on that later.
I feel so blessed to have this space to craft and play. And look, there's even room for friends!
Thanks for visiting the cafe today!

Oh, wow! Your craft studio is really beautiful! I thought I would see Jemma peeking from under the new counter skirt, but she looks pretty against the beautiful hardwood flooring. You are sooooo going to enjoy spending time there! Love it!! M.L.
ReplyDeleteNo room under the table. Too much stuff! 😉
DeleteLove your crafty space! Is it on the main floor? I'd love to come stamp with you! Jemma looks pretty comfy in there!
ReplyDeleteThe room is on the lower basement level, right around the corner from the coffee bar! Handy! I'm also happy to have a bathroom next door for washing sticky inky hands when I craft. Come over and play any time, Sandy!
DeleteSO happy for you!
