Roll With It! Crescent Roll Recipe
I have been pinning a lot of Pillsbury Crescent Roll recipes lately. There are so many delicious and easy combinations to try!
Last weekend, when the boys were in town, I decided to make Bacon Cheeseburger Ring, and it was delicious. The boys all happily ate seconds. So easy to make, and very filling, too.
I altered the original recipe a bit to suit our family, so here's what I did:
Bacon Cheeseburger Ring
2 pkgs Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 lb. ground beef, cooked and drained 4 slices cooked bacon, chopped
1/2 red onion, chopped and cooked with ground beef
1/3 c. Sir Kensington special sauce
Bread and Butter pickle slices, about 16
4 American cheese slices, cut in half
olive oil, about 1 T
sesame seeds, about 2 t.
Using a large cookie sheet, arrange 4 rectangles of opened and unrolled crescent dough to form a cross with whole in center. Arrange the other four rectangles of unrolled dough to form a cross again, overlapping slightly with the other cross. In a bowl, combine ground beef and onion mixture with sauce and chopped bacon. Spoon this mixture on to the ring near the center circle. Layer sliced pickles on top, and then layer cheese slices. Fold dough over from outside of ring to the inside, pressing in the center to seal. Brush the ring with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in 375 oven for 20-25 minutes, until dough is golden. Slice and serve.
You can find the original recipe (with photos and directions) at Pillsbury.com.
This is not what I would call healthy food, but it was definitely a crowd pleaser with the men!
We definitely want to try the other variations now...taco ring, chicken enchilada ring, spinach and feta ring, Mediterranean ring. And for those Thanksgiving leftovers? Turkey and cranberries ring!
Have you made any Crescent Roll recipes? If so, what was your favorite?
