The Hallmark Effect

I'm calling it the Hallmark Effect.

It's what happens to us when Hallmark starts airing their Christmas shows. I go in to full holiday mode overnight!

I think my reasons are two-fold.

One, I started making Christmas cards at Stamp Camp earlier this month. It's never too soon to get a jump on the card making!

Two, as part of my new fellowship duties at church, I am hosting a women's Advent Cafe event on December 1st. Originally, that sounded like a looooong ways away. And then I quickly realized that December 1st, the first Sunday in Advent, is less than six weeks away. Aaaack! I've been booking singers, ordering supplies, creating themes, assembling make and take crafts. It's going to be a lot of work, but I'm really hoping it will be fun for the ladies in attendance.

This year, because Thanksgiving is occurring so late in November, there will be almost a full week less between Thanksgiving and Christmas. A little extra planning on the front end should help when the time comes.

Here's a card I made using multiple products from different companies! I rarely mix it up this much, but it worked so well here.

{Today's Brew: Christmas Pines stamps and dies (SU), Tree Ring (Concord and 9th) deer die (PTI In The Meadow), PTI ink and card stock, Simple Stories papers, twine, Wink of Stella}

Tell me, have you started watching any of the holiday shows yet? Too soon?

  1. Your card is lovely! You did a wonderful job of mixing products. They go together beautifully. I'm looking forward to the start of Hallmark's new Christmas season this weekend!
