Signs of Snow
I thought all the signs were there.
Tons of wooly caterpillars this autumn.
Bushes and trees loaded with berries.
Extra busy squirrels.
All of the signs that point to a snowy winter.
And it looked promising in November with an early snowfall.
But since then, winter has been on the mild side.
Other areas of Michigan have gotten plenty of snow. But here? We may wake up to an inch or two on occasion, but for the most part, it's been a lot of gray and brown and dull.
Forecasters are predicting some snow for the weekend...anywhere from four to eight inches. In recent years, it seems as if we get the bulk of our winter weather in January and February, and sometimes even March. But once February comes, my mind starts turning to spring thoughts.
In the meantime, it's still Snowman Season!
I'm nearly finished with this pattern. Just a few more snowflakes to go!
I spent the morning cleaning up my needle art supplies. I organized my threads and sorted some patterns. When this one is done, I will move on to some Valentine projects.
Just puttering indoors, trying to keep busy and keep winter doldrums away.
Blessings, cafe friends!

This is super cute...I am working on two cross-stitch projects myself! AND no snow here either! Some on Saturday but rain will wash it away. :(
ReplyDeleteThat is cute! I have the winter doldrums because we DON'T have snow. I love a really cold, really snowy winter and it seems we rarely get them here in Pittsburgh.
