Crafters To The Rescue!
Who knew?
All it took was a global pandemic for craft hoarders everywhere to finally use up that stash of fat quarters they've been holding on to for years! 😃
I have a lot of cute fabrics, many of which I bought from Stampin' Up back when they sold fat quarters in a three pack. I've been using these to make face masks for family, friends and neighbors. I am making mine with bias tape that I got at Walmart. If you've been in the arts and crafts aisles at Walmart, you will know that they are wiped out now. Painting supplies, DMC floss, fabric...gone! I did find a few of the extra wide double fold seam binding packs. I also got some of the extra wide quilt binding that I've been cutting in half lengthwise.
I spent the day making masks. One for my husband, a few for my neighbors who requested them. I made some shortbread cookies and delivered these with the masks last night.
I am not the speediest seamstress, but I get the job done. My Janome Sew Mini is all the machine I can handle!
Have you been sewing face masks? I hear my local nursing homes could use them. I may have to sew a few extras if I have the supplies. What a wonderful opportunity to use your crafts to bless others.
Blessings, cafe friends!
