Inspired...to Shop My Stash

Do you ever look at something on the internet that has you looking at more, and pretty soon, you've fallen down a rabbit hole and an hour has passed?

Tell me I'm not the only one!

This week, I was looking at two stamp company offerings. The first was Concord and 9th's new release, called Woodland Turnabout stamps and dies. It is very cute! And you know how I love all things C and 9th these days. But honestly, it looked a lot like one of my old favorites from Papertrey Ink, Wee Folk.

I began to think...why not use Wee Folk and pair it with some different items...like the Into The Woods cover plate die? And why not add some cute fall leaves and tiny pumpkins from PTI's Tag Its stamps? And why not make everything soft and painterly?

And that's how I came up with today's card!

After browsing through Concord and 9th, I somehow hopped over to Hello Bluebird...and fell in love with so many cute designs!

Here's the thing. I tend to be really cautious with new purchases. I mean, I will have a wish list for months, and a shopping cart that is ever evolving. I don't like to purchase from too many companies because I don't like to have regrets when I discover that something is really not my style. It's happened in the past, and I end up selling it off if I don't use it.

But Hello Bluebird has some adorable designs! And the prices of their dies are really reasonable, too.

There are some companies that I've purchased from in the past, but lately, either their designs are really redundant and simplistic (Hello, I can draw an acorn with a PITT marker and save myself $15!), or the price of their dies seems outrageous (I'm talking to you, MFT).

This was supposed to be my year of spending less and using my stash more. Sigh. I don't know how well I did with this, but one thing's for certain. I never did succeed in that $12 a month challenge I gave myself last year! LOL!

I have a little money in my Paypal account, and I'm just trying to decide what I will really need in the future versus what I really want right this minute.

For now, I'm going to try to continue shopping from my stash!

Blessings on your weekend, cafe friend!

  2. Love how your adapted to shopping your stash! I too see many repeats in different companies current offerings that remind me of old friends in my stash. It's fun to reuse materials in a new way which you did so well.
