Cooking With Gas!

It's here! It's here! It's finally here!

After waiting for FIVE months during the Great Appliance Shortage of 2020, my new oven/stove and microwave arrived this week! YAY!

I have been cooking without an oven for a long time, so it is nice to finally be able to bake again!

These Kitchenaid appliances are really beautiful, too. I like the removeable griddle feature.

The handles are so pretty, with a nice grippy texture and those fancy red knobs.

Next month, we should be getting the matching dishwasher installed, along with a coordinating (but not exactly matching) French door refrigerator.

My plan is to swap out all of the old cabinet hardware with vintage-looking chrome knobs and pulls to match the appliances. We will also try painting the backsplash white. I am hoping that those updates will be just enough, and I wont feel the need to paint the cabinets. We will see.

It is a grey and rainy day, so I am making a big pot of minestrone soup. 

My family has all commented on how the white appliances really lighten up the kitchen space. I think when it is all done, it is going to look so good with the white bead board and woodwork throughout this space.
