Use What You Have: A Hero Arts-Inspired CASE card

I really loved this card from Lydia Fiedler for Hero Arts. Everything about it! The stenciled tree background, the color scheme, that bright pop of red with the fox. Of course, my first instinct was to add all of these elements to my Hero Arts wish list. But then I started thinking....can I make something similar with what I already own?

Big surprise. It turns out the answer to that question is "yes!"

I found this stencil in my stash. I hate to think how old it is...more than five years old, perhaps? I am certain I bought it in Pittsburgh. And have I used it yet? Uhm, nope!

I had the tree background. I had the right colors for inks. But did I have the fox?

I used an image from Woodware's Jane Gill linocut stamps, stamped just the fox in the image, and then fussy cut him to layer.

I love it! I added a strip of glitter to give him some snowy grounding. It also makes the card a little more festive for Christmas.

I LOVE shopping from my own stash! I plan on doing a lot more of that in 2021!

Happy Monday, café friends!

  2. Nicely cased! Your colors and products worked well to carry out the design. I love sorting through my stash to reinvent a card with the latest release items.
