Winter Birds

Brrr! It is a cold winter's day today! At least the sun is shining brightly. A good day to stay indoors with a hot cup of tea and a good book or craft project.

One nice thing about winter weather is that it brings such a variety of birds to my feeder. Recently, we've had tufted titmouse, purple house finch, junco, red-headed woodpecker, chickadee, downy woodpecker, sparrow and more. Today's cards feature some regular guests: cardinals and blue jays.

I stamped on watercolor paper, then used a slightly wet brush to blend the inks. Simple!

I used the same technique for the cardinal, but then added some very subtly white embossed snow over the scene.

I hear we may get some more snow this weekend. Time to fill those feeders, put out fresh suet, and enjoy the show!
