So here's a funny development...our patio tables arrived last week!
Yes, the patio tables we ordered last April. Just in time to put them in to storage!
Like many other things (cars, appliances, computers), furniture has also been affected by the broken supply chain.
I sent my family a photo of the new table, along with this image. Thanksgiving outside, just like the Peanuts gang and the pilgrims!
I have been receiving emails from retailers warning customers that it will be a different holiday shopping season this year. With a bottleneck of goods stuck on cargo ships, along with a lack of employees in the work force, we ae being told to buy early. Do not wait for Black Friday!
Have you started your holiday shopping? I have. Sometimes, I am even buying an item with the thought that if I change my mind, I can always return it. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, as the saying goes. Better to be safe than sorry!
I have begun my Christmas card making earlier than ever! I recently ordered some sentiment sets from Taylored Expressions. I have plans for them that involve the Advent Café I am hosting at church.
This month, TE is giving away this leafy frame die with purchase. I was so happy to discover that all of the Word of Faith sentiment sets I had ordered fit perfectly inside this frame!
I paired metallic card stock with a sentiment embossed with some TE coppery embossing powder. The red enamel dot "berries" are from the Dollar Store! I was so excited when I found them, thinking they'd make a great addition on holiday cards.
And here's another bonus! This sweet stamp was included for free with my order!
Are you planning early for the holidays this year? I have even purchased almost everything needed to make the Thanksgiving dinner ( with the exception of the turkey and the potatoes!). Some grocery store shelves have been really spotty with their stock, and I want to be prepared. The big feast is just two weeks away!
I haven't noticed shortages in the Pittsburgh area, but I'm also not a shopper. Our family's solution, though, should we discover shortages is that we are just going to buy less for Christmas. We are kind of over the gifts and really want to just enjoy our time together. So, we may travel or have fun experiences locally each day. As for Thanksgiving, our friends have a catering business so we're ordering our dinner this year. They make it all from scratch so it'll be yummy! This will free me to run a Turkey Trot with family that's visiting plus plan fun games for my niece and nephews. I'm pretty excited for the holidays this year!
ReplyDeleteLast week we received the cushions for our outdoor swing that I ordered in June. Yep, we looked at them, retaped the box, and put it away until next summer.
