I am heading down to my Mom's today to take her out to lunch and do some card making. She gets bored and cooped up in the winter, so my siblings and I try to entertain her whenever possible. Trips to Costco and Target, pizza and card games, coffee and cookies after church.
Cabin fever. We all start to feel it around this time of year.
I decided to assemble some elements for fast and fun cards that we can make together.
I started with this Simple Stories kit that contained papers and stickers. Perfect.
I cut and scored some card bases, then cut some colored card stock for layering.
Next, I cut apart the paper elements included in the kit. Aren't they cute? Perfect for Valentine's and lots of other occasions, too.
I decided to stamp some sentiments on strips that would be easy for mounting onto the card fronts. Get Well wishes, Sending Hugs, Thinking of You, Happy Birthday.
I also punched out some hearts. Sometimes, the little die cut images can add the perfect touch.
I also cut out some words and sentiments that could be added to the front. Thanks, Birthday, Warm Hugs, Hello. I decided black was the way to go for maximum impact.
Finally, I put it all in a box with a few supplies: foam dimensionals, tape runner, scissors, some enamel dots, rhinestone hearts, paper doilies, baker's twine, and stickers.
I have enough here to make at least sixteen cards, maybe more. That should give Mom a good stash for the weeks ahead.
Tomorrow I will show you some of our assembled cards.
Happy Friday, café friends!
What a great idea for your mom! Your kit is fabulous! Did you use a stamp to make the outline on the banners or did they come like that in the SS kit?
