An Office Refresh

I decided the office needed a little refresh this month. Nothing drastic, just a few swaps.

This room gets the morning light, and I love the buttery yellow walls that give me a warm hug. I do most of my writing here.

Before, I had an off-white Parson's chair cover, and some modern art. I used to have the Grandmother clock in a weird spot, too, but I angled it and like it much better.

I ordered a new spa blue check chair cover from Ballard at a great sale price. I also swapped out the art for one of the vintage oil paintings I had in storage.

I have a plan for that wall next to the window to hang another smaller oil painting and a needle art project...just as soon as I'm finished with it and can get it framed!

Isn't this pen and pencil holder the cutest thing? I found it last fall at Goodwill for $2. Yes, it is Rae Dunn pottery, and it probably retails for over $15. Score!

I really like the view from here, looking in to the office. The colors of the checked chair cover now match the wall colors, and the artwork looks cohesive. It just flows.

My husband asked me last night "What would you say our design style is at this house?"

"Hmm. Granny chic?" I answered.

"No, I think it's cottage," he said.

He's learned so much! They grow so fast...it almost brings a tear to the eye! 😂

Thanks for visiting the café today!

  1. I agree with you - cottage, except I would add "warm and cozy" to the cottage. I adore your decorating style. You must love stepping in to your office to write! The rug in that last photo is beautiful!
