Hello, café friends! Today I am going to show you how I used dies that I already own to make a potted geranium card.
This card was inspired by The Greetery's Botanicuts Geraniums dies. I wanted to copy the look using what I have, so I rummaged through some sets and found some acceptable substitutes.
I used the pot from PTI's Make It Market Herb Garden set, paired it with some florals from a Concord and 9th turnabout set (Darling Petals), and cut out a few stems using a die from PTI's Give Thanks.
One of the cool things about the Greetery dies is that they emboss as well as cut out. No worries! I grabbed this super old embossing tool, and it worked great!
I gave the flowers a 3D effect with layering. Then, I did a little splattering with white metallic paint from Prima.
I left off the sentiment this time. I can add one later as the need arises.
I love the challenge of using what I've got! I feel like an explorer when I discover something in my stash! Case in point: I told Sam the other week that I need a goat stamp (when I saw the new Lawn Fawn spring release!). Guess what? It turns out I already have a goat stamp with the Birdie Brown On The Farm stamps! And the other day I started thinking of bees and ladybugs, and you guessed it...I have MFT stamps with both!
Challenge accepted, and mission accomplished!
