Hello, café friends! How was your Easter? Our weekend was busy! Cooking, cleaning, church, games...good times!
Mom came on Saturday, and we had a good time decorating eggs, playing UNO, and eating sloppy joes and soup. Yum!
On Easter morning, I made these hot cross cinnamon buns. Don't get too impressed with my efforts...I cheated and used King's Hawaiian Rolls! 😂
We had a delicious Easter breakfast at church, served by the elders. They did a great job!
Church was lovely. Some of my favorite hymns!
We picked up Ed's Mom and brought her to church with us. Afterward, we had a nice early dinner. Nothing too fancy, just grilled pork chops, potatoes, salad, and lemon cake for dessert.
The day was a little chilly, but sunny. You can't hope for better than that in April!
Sam introduced everyone to his Oculus virtual gaming system. Funny!
How was your Easter? Do you bake or cook anything special for the day? I know a lady at church that bakes 13 coconut covered lamb cakes for Easter! Imagine that!
We had snow on Monday. Ugh. Will spring ever come? Hope your week is springier and springier!

What a busy weekend! So nice to have your family come. After a week away from home, staying with our grandchildren while their parents were away, we came home, and the next day our other son and grandson came up for Easter weekend. We had a simple ham dinner. A fun week, but I'm definitely tired.
ReplyDeleteHaving family over is the best and the photos look like it was a great time - so nice for you all (and Jemma heehee). My grandma always cooked Easter dinner but when she passed, I took over. But I don't really cook it - there's a family at my daughter's high school that owns a catering business and they offer an Easter dinner that just needs warmed in the oven. It's delicious and the leftovers make for yummy meals over the following week. My oldest was home from college and made the classic Easter dessert of chocolate chip cookies lol (they were seriously GOOD, though!).
