A Spring Refresh

 

The boys are coming home for Easter this weekend. Yay! I wanted to give the front porch a spring refresh. I've been waiting, patiently, or not so patiently, for spring weather to actually arrive here in Michigan.

One clue that spring is here is when the local garden centers finally get the potted spring flowers! I finally found some pansies yesterday at my local Busch's grocery store. Hooray!

I also went to my local Ace hardware store and got a pretty new insert for my door mat.

A few blue gingham ribbons tie the doormat to the garden flag.

I like this cheery blue and yellow combination!

The daffodils are finally blooming! But the crocus? Well, they did not survive. Not from the cold, just the onslaught of bunnies and deer that we feed on a daily basis. 

Oh well. That's the price you pay for living near the woods and creeks and being surrounded by nature.

I'm pretty sure the pansies are safe. We will see!
