Summertime Flowers

I love cut flowers, especially when they are casually displayed in a Ball canning jar. I always try to plant some flowers that are good for cutting. Last year, I bought seeds from Burpee, and I was so disappointed. I was spending about $2 a pack for a measly ten or twelve seeds, and they did a terrible job growing. This year, I decided to buy seeds from Ferry Morse instead. Much cheaper, a lot more seeds per packet, and guess what? They've been growing great! I had seedlings just three or four days after planting!

This year, I am growing cosmos, zinnia, and bachelor buttons. The butterflies and bees will love them, and I can cut them and bring them indoors, too.

This sweet arrangement contains peonies (but I think they could pass as roses, too) and hydrangeas (I have plenty of those!). And of course, a sweet little bird, just for fun.
