One of the things I love to do is use my craft supplies for things beyond the ordinary. I often incorporate crafts into Fellowship events at my church. In September, we are having our annual Ministry Fair. I decided to create a new theme this year...red picnic gingham!
I found some great supplies from Walmart to get me inspired. Super cheap! I wrapped the trifold board in some white striped wrapping paper, which made a good backdrop for all of that red!
I wanted a chalkboard sign, so I used black card stock with a white Prisma pencil, and framed it all in some stamped woodgrain (From Concord and 9th Petals and Palettes).
Isn't that turkey adorable? Dollar Spot from Target!
I stuck those cookie cutters onto the cookie sheet with Glue Dots!
And here's a little swag takeaway for everyone who stops by my booth! I combined the Catherine Pooler Strawberries and Jam stamp set, and added a little "Jesus" banner from a stamp from Taylored Expressions.
Jesus, You're My Jam!
I wanted my booth to be more about "Look at all the fun we're having! Join us!", and less about "We are desperate for your help! Sign up or else!"
The Barna Research Group recently did a survey of church-going Christians, asking them what they missed the most about church during the pandemic, when in-person worship was restricted.
The number one answer? Receiving the sacraments. Good answer!
Number two? The Coffee Fellowship Hour!
It seems like such a silly, inconsequential thing. But it turns out that time for brothers and sisters in Christ to connect and share is absolutely vital to the life of the church and the body of Christ.
I love that!
A simple thing can have such a big impact.
Looking forward to talking with folks about our ministry this month!
Thanks for visiting the café today!
Your creativity in church related events always inspires me. I'm sure it inspires your fellow church members, too. Nothing like a colorful, well laid out display to catch their eyes!
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks, Susie!
DeleteI would totally come to your booth lol! Your fellowship activities sound so fun. Man, do I miss that about our former church. My husband and I have been talking about finding a church that is more like what we used to attend (we had to leave because what they were teaching turned decidedly against what the Bible taught - broke our hearts). We miss the fellowship and potluck dinners and other simple activities that made the church a place to worship and socialize. REALLY cute table!!
ReplyDeleteWe briefly attended a local church in McCandless and a big church in the Cranberry Twp area. Finally, after researching, we ended up at a church all the way in Cabot! It was a bit of a drive on Sunday, but worth it in the end. I feel for you! It's hard to find the right church community!
