Teal Month

I have been remiss. We are halfway through September, and I have neglected my duty to write about Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.

I bought some teal-colored nail polish (very unlike me!), painted my nails and wore some matching teal earrings that I had made. I went to the grocery store yesterday, and the clerk commented on my matching teal. It gave me the perfect opportunity to tell others about Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month!

Who knew that teal nails could have the power to spread the word?

I recently discovered the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance, a wonderful organization that makes sure that towns like mine show their teal in the month of September!

Here's some handy information to stay in the know:

My sister, Tina, had stage 3C ovarian cancer when she was diagnosed. She had a two-year life expectancy, but God be praised, we were blessed to have her for four years.

Early detection could be the key for many women.

Spread the word, my friends! And wear teal this month. Who knows? Those crazy nails could help save a life!

  1. Ooh, love those nails! I have a young 40 year old friend who's on her second round of chemo two years after her Stage 4 ovarian cancer surgery. They removed everything she could live without the first time so now it's up to chemo to fight this bout. Praying for a cure. Vikki H
