Pastor and Church Worker Appreciation Month

October is Pastor and Church Worker Appreciation Month. I wanted to come up with a theme and a fun way for the congregation members to share their thanks.

Pinterest to the rescue!

Someone had posted a "DONUT" theme, and I decided I could make that happen.

I used stitched circles in various sizes to make about four dozen donuts with PTI card stock, and added sprinkles with stamps from the new Catherine Pooler "Extra Frosting" stamp set.

Folks could write their thanks on a donut and put it into the bag of the church worker so that the workers could take home a "bag of donuts".

I added a few quick coffee-themed cards, too...because what goes better with coffee than donuts?

And yes, there were real donuts on hand, along with a full brunch spread!

I think the staff and the congregation enjoyed it. Something a little different than our traditional sheet cake.

It was a lot of work to pull this all together, and I was a bit stressed yesterday, to be honest. This non-paying volunteer job takes a lot of time and energy, and I think it's even taken a toll on my health. I told my husband yesterday "I am so tired of having to be a Martha. I just wish I could be a Mary and sit at the feet of Jesus one Sunday!"

Only two or three more Fellowship events for this year. I think my "term" ends in June. I love to serve, but I am really looking forward to the break.

  1. Your creativity with the fellowship events that you've posted has been amazing. Even though you are getting tired, I hope you are feeling the joy of blessing others with your gifts and your service.
