Holiday Baking ! (Sshhhh! Secret Shortcuts Inside!)

We've been doing some holiday baking and cookie decorating the past two days. I made two dozen gingerbread men and two dozen cutout cookies. I am letting the guys decorate them this year!

And here's my secret time saver. I bought the premade dough from Gordon's this year!

Life was just too packed with other things this month to worry about homemade cookies. My family is totally cool with that. We even have two cakes for the holidays from local bakeries. Whenever I could, I decided to go the "shortcut" route this year. Bob Evans microwave mashed potatoes? Good enough for me! Aldi pre-made breakfast quiche? Sounds good! Pillsbury pumpkin spice cinnamon rolls for Christmas morning? That's a winner.

More fun, less stress! John did a great job with these cookies, too!

Less time in the kitchen means I have more time to sit and relax. I am stitching up this series of baking-themed Lori Holt Stitch cards now. Fun!

Merry Christmas!
