Epiphany (and my 2023 motto)

Now that Epiphany is here, I was ready to put away the last of the Christmas. This nativity set was from my Mom, something she made back in the seventies. I just love it.

It has survived multiple moves (just barely), and needed a few glue repairs along the way.

The wise men are all bowing in this direction because...

...the Holy Family sits on the fireplace mantle.

I heard someone once say that the Holy Family is holy because Christ is in the midst of them. I love that thought.

Which brings me to my motto for 2023.

More Jesus, Less Me in 2023.

I haven't fully fleshed out what this means or even what it will look like. I just know it's been on my heart.

It may mean less blogging this year. Frankly, I get tired of talking about life sometimes because it really isn't all that exciting. Work, To Do lists, caring for three sets of octogenarians. Lots of jobs, lots of juggling, lots of hats to wear.

It may mean more opportunities to serve my neighbor. In an age where the latest buzz words are "self care", this seems pretty counter cultural.

More Jesus, Less Me in 2023.

Blessings on your Monday, café friends!

  2. Ah, always a goal. Due to a move as the pandemic began and then the isolation in a new environment I've become an internet junkie. I have challenged myself to balance this with service and more Jesus too. Vikki
