Indy: Allisonville Nursery

I think it was Thomas Wolfe who once said "You can't go home again."

But it turns out you CAN go home again if you have sons that live in your former home town!

It's hard to fathom, but it has been 10 years this month since we moved from Noblesville, Indiana. And obviously, it felt like home to my older sons, who went to high school and college in Indiana. I am glad they've planted themselves there again...that means we can visit often!

Last weekend, we had some time to waste on Friday, so I told my husband "Let's go walk through Allisonville Nursery!"

Oh my word. This place is a MUST SEE! Gardens filled with beautiful plants and trees and shrubs, amazing roses, garden art, home décor, you name it. And they now have a bistro café!

Here are some photos.

Precious!

The bees had me thinking of creative card ideas!

I had a hard time resisting that sheep, and this pair...

I thought we needed this, but Ed says we have the real deal.

Eek! Those chenille mushrooms!

The book made me laugh!

That rooster has inspired me! And those geraniums!

I found Ed here,  at the husband parking spot, when I was done with my tour of the place. 😁

There was a time when I could not have left a place like that without multiple purchases. But these days, I try to pare down what I bring into the cottage, and I talk myself out of a lot of things. Still, it was fun to look, take photos, and get inspired to go home and garden and fluff in my own house.

Happy Friday, café friends!

  1. What a fantastic place to browse! I NEED a couple (or more) of those large potted geraniums for our front deck. Hmm...how far is Indiana from here... ?
