I spend a lot of mornings in the garden, just puttering around and getting jobs done. Planting seeds, weeding, checking on new starts.
The showy daffodils and hyacinths have faded, but now the creeping phlox and globe alliums are taking center stage.
I've added a few new perennials to the pollinator garden: Veronica, Russian Sage, tall pink garden phlox, bee balm.
We really really need to mulch this week! I'm going to have a big truckload delivered. I don't do this every year, more like every couple of years. But I know it is long overdue!
It is always more work to spread the mulch carefully around the existing plants, but I also know that nothing gets buried this way.
All of this gardening has me sleeping like a log at night! Fresh air, sunshine, exercise. Good for dogs and people, too!
