Last weekend, I picked up my mom and took her to the local senior center for their annual Strawberry Shortcake festival!
We ran into some neighbors from our subdivision where we grew up. Good memories! Here's my sweet Mom.
And here's Strawberry Shortcake herself! This lady was dressed so sweet, I had to take her photo!
It's important to enjoy the little things, like fresh fruit in season and time with loved ones.
I made this Hello Bluebird card for the lady at church who will be taking over my position as Fellowship chairperson at the end of the month. It's been a very busy four years of serving, and it is time to take a break. I plan on spending a full year being a Mary at the feet of Jesus, as opposed to a Martha worried about feeding the masses.
{Today's Brew: Field Mice stamps and dies (Hello Bluebird), HB Gallery frame die, COPIC markers, Pretty Party papers from Crate Paper}
I'm patiently waiting for Hello Bluebird's next release, which has been pushed back to end of June or beginning of July. In the meantime, using what I have is always a good idea!
I received a container of freshly picked Michigan strawberries with my farm subscription yesterday. I think I will be making Strawberry Shortcake for Father's Day!
Hope your weekend is sweet!
Another great post, Mary Rose! Your mom looks so happy, enjoying her time with you and the shortcake. The "Strawberry Shortcake" lady is adorable! I can still remember the smell of my Strawberry Shortcake doll lol. Our farmer's market has strawberries and they were great with the spinach I got there, plus baked with rhubarb in to a crumble. We also made strawberry ice cream. The little things really are the most enjoyable, you are right about that.
