Today's card features these lovely ferns from Papertrey Ink, paired with sentiment from CP.
This bee wax seal got a little extra attention with the addition of this Spellbinders "twine" die. It's not really twine, just a die that cuts out card stock. How cool is that? It makes it a little less bulky for mailing, too.
I've tried twice now to grow ferns in my back shade garden, with no luck. I don't know if the bunnies and deer eat it, or if it just doesn't work in the spot where I want it.
Shady spots are tricky. They are typically shady because they have tree cover, and trees mean roots. My big maple has a pretty wide cover and lots of roots, so it makes it hard to plant there. I do what I can. Mostly, I grow things like Coleus and wax begonias, with just a few perennials mixed in.
Other things that don't do well here: Morning Glories (not enough sunny spots for them to climb, I guess). I've also had a few unsuccessful attempts at growing sunflowers. But guess what? I have a few growing this year! Maybe the bunnies and deer couldn't find them because I had them camouflaged amongst the cosmos. We will see how these turn out. Just a few, maybe four to six, but better than nothing.
The garden is at the height of the season now, and everything is so lush. We've had a good amount of rain for the past two or three weeks, and that helps. I will post some pics soon.
Happy Friday, friends!

What a beautiful card! A few weeks ago I tried to use those ferns die cut on a card, but I couldn't get the look I wanted. They look better stamped, as you did. Thanks for the inspiration! I'll try again.
