The Week in Review

Hello, café friends!

It was a busy week!

After returning from our weekend trip to the western coast of Michigan, I had to jump back in to full prep mode.

I made these mini composition books for the writers group at our local senior center. I spoke to the group about my writing process and how I go about interviewing people for stories. It was a lot of fun!

I used a stamp from Simple Stories My Story collection, stamped it on sticker paper, cut it out, and adhered it to the front. Easy and fun.

I got my new car this week! We tend to lease my cars every three years, as I don't put a lot of miles on them, typically. This will be my fourth Subaru Crosstrek!  I used to drive the bright orange one, but they aren't making that color anymore. This is the "new" orange, called "Sun Blaze Pearl". I love it! I am calling it Pumpkin Spice, part two!

For much of the week, I was prepping for a Saturday stamp camp with my sweet Mom and friends. I did all the die cutting, card base cutting, assembling and sorting so that I wouldn't have to bring too many things. Of course, I still packed way too much...probably enough for a three day weekend! LOL

We made this card using a freebie stencil/stamp/die set from The Greetery. Mom said she needed birthday cards, and I thought this one was fun and easy. One layer, too!

For this day, I packed mostly Stampin' Up stamps and papers, along with a few extras from other companies.

Example: SU Tea set and papers, paired with The Greetery cozy die and "hello" word die.

We had a fun time catching up with friends, and I know it was good for Mom to get out and about for the day.

The produce is coming in fast now that we are at the height of summer! This week, I had so many good things: cantaloupe, plums, red haven peaches, cherries, blueberries, and of course, sweet corn!

We ate the cantaloupe with breakfast yesterday, and last night I fixed farm fresh sliced tomatoes drizzled with Garlic Expressions. Yum! I also fixed farm fresh green beans with dinner. So good.

We are heading out of town today to check on my step Mom-in-law, Shirley Ann. I think she's faring pretty well since my father-in-law's passing. She's getting out more and socializing with friends. We're going to see if there's anything she needs, and just spend the day with her, taking her out to lunch and shopping.

I have another full week of prepping ahead! We are prepping Sam for moving into his college apartment this week. I am also prepping for a party this weekend. I can feel summer winding down, can you? I am looking forward to a quiet autumn and a Pumpkin Spice latte!
