Yes, I Have Apples!

How do you decide when you "need" something in your crafting collection?  When the new seasonal products get released, my initial response is "Ooo, I want that!" And then I have to ask myself "Do you already have something like that?"

I probably had two or three online shopping carts filled with apples and pumpkins last month. And they were all adorable! But did I really need them? No. I already have plenty of apples and pumpkins. And unless I'm ready to get rid of old sets (I'm not), then I don't need new ones.

I was all set to buy new apple bushel dies and pumpkin backgrounds and and and...

...and then I remembered this cute stamp and die set from Concord and 9th called Friendly Farms.

I made the bushel using cardstock, but then die cut the apples and did some ink blending to give them color.

I'm not as frugal as I wish I was. I think the new year's motto will be "Year of Plenty". As in "You have plenty of that! You don't need more!"

But sometimes, there's something just too cute to pass up. Like these acorns and pinecones I found at the Dollar Tree! Seriously! They look great next to my sparkly mica-covered candlesticks, don't you think?

I'm thinking ahead to Christmas cards, and my plan is to get out all of my holiday papers and try to use up as much as possible. Too many!

  1. I've already made a handful of Christmas cards using an old set that I've only used one time before for a couple of cards. Kind of fun.
