Wow. 2023 was an action-packed year. It's good to take time to reflect on the past twelve months and realize how much I actually accomplished this year.
In January, I climbed a mountain! Not bad for a 55 year old! Of course, I could barely walk for three days after, but let's not remember that part.
We visited the White House! Okay, maybe we didn't actually step foot in the White House, but I did get to see our nation's capitol for the first time!
We took two trips to the Lake Michigan coast this summer. Always fun spending time with Ed!
We saw a game at the Big House! Go BLUE!
We got our new windows installed this summer! Thank you, Pure Energy Windows! We love them!
(Oh, and we got nominated for the Green Thumb Award this summer! So cool!)
We celebrated my sweet Mom's 90th birthday this summer!
We celebrated our son, John's 30th birthday this summer!
We attended the Christkindl Market!
We celebrated not one but TWO engagements in our family!
I won an award from Toledo's Press Club!
We went to orchards and cider tastings and pumpkin patches.
We went to concerts, we had fun, we went to cafes!
We made a point of squeezing in the together moments whenever we could.
Were there challenges? Yes. Life always has them. We lost loved ones. We cared for aging parents. We worked. But we also looked at each day as a blessing from God. And we continue to feel those blessings, and hope to be a blessing to others in return.
I think we can look back at 2023 and say "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! His steadfast love endures forever!"
Another fun post! You're right about it being good to look back, not to dwell on things, but to remind ourselves of God's blessings and faithfulness.
