In The Pink

This year's garden color combo was largely inspired by this silly frog flag. The pink and yellow flowers were such a happy combination. I decided to seek out pink and yellow annuals to fill in the garden.

My first annual purchases were five potted pink geraniums from Walmart. They usually come out to the garden center around Mother's Day, and I have to snag them before they're all gone. Compared to other garden centers, these are always a good deal. In year's past, they've had red, but this year pink was the offering, so I grabbed them.

I got a flat of yellow marigolds and a flat of pink wax begonias and mixed them together.

And then the weigela bushes started blooming, tying all the pink and yellow together.

On the back deck, the pink and yellow wave petunias look pretty with the new garden flag.

The lime green creeping Jenny helps all of these colors stand out.

I'm hoping that the colors will carry over into the butterfly garden, where I have pink and purple coneflower, black-eyed Susans, and a variety of zinnias. Seeds have been planted, and fingers have been crossed!
