Avery Elle News

Hello, café friends! I hope you are enjoying these glorious autumn days. We took a trip up north this month to do some leaf peeping and walk along Lake Michigan's shore. We even saw quaking golden Aspen trees, something I didn't realize you could find in Michigan.

On our drive home, we popped in to Marshall and I made a small purchase at Paper and I...Avery Elle extra large storage pockets. I use these for so many purposes. They're a great size to hold 6 x 6 or 6 x 8 paper pads. I often put my Simple Stories pads in these, along with any matching enamel dots or bits of ephemera. They also hold large stamp and die sets.

Well, it's a good thing I got them because Avery Elle announced they are going out of business. If you want these awesome storage envelopes, you better get them soon.

This paper pack really came in handy this weekend. I needed a set of cards for Pastor/Church staff appreciation Sunday. I want to give all of our staff a little gift, so I gave each one a jar of specialty jam and mini French toasts. A little sweet treat.

It was the perfect excuse to FINALLY use this stamp and die set from Reverse Confetti. So cute. I wonder why it took me so long to use it!

It's the last week of October, and I'm starting to think about the upcoming holiday season. I'm playing Christmas music in my craft room while I work on a few cards and projects. I'm exploring options for Thanksgiving dinner next month. And I'm wondering if I might try a new "theme" for Christmas this year.

I'm also learning Christmas tunes on my dulcimer, and hoping our group can play together often. It brings us such joy!

Tell me...what's new with you? I love to hear from you!

  2. Well you are most certainly in the Christmas spirit! I honestly don't know how but I have about 125 Christmas cards made. I seem to make them as I take classes and participate in challenges here and there and then all of a sudden, the shoebox is full and they are waiting to be mailed!
My newlywed daughter and son-in-law just announced they would like to host Thanksgiving this year and both sides of the family will be there. We all know and love each other so I'm very excited for this!
Been doing a ton of reading (by the way, I always love your posts about what you are reading). While on vacation, I picked up the first book in a mystery series by a local author and loved it so much I immediately bought the next 10 in the series (my library didn't have any of them). They are the Liz Talbot series by Susan M. Boyer and light-hearted and fun!
It's wonderful to hear from you, Mary Rose!
