Last month's Make Your Own Card Kit project seemed to work really well for me. I'd used Simple Stories Tea Garden as my starting point, and made a good stash of cards for spring. But to be honest, many were on the feminine side, with lots of pinks and flowers and tea things.
This month, I was inspired by the new release from Catherine Pooler called Trail Mix. Cute stuff! Campers and forest animals and all things outdoorsy. And it was tempting to place an order! But when you've been crafting as long as I have, you've got to stop and ask yourself "Don't I already own something like that?" The answer is usually "Yes, yes you do!"
I began to assemble some things for a nature-inspired crafting session.
I started with a paper pack from Papertrey Ink. An oldie, but a goodie!
I took a few sheets from the 8 1/2 by 11 pack and cut them down to 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 size for card making.
Next, I looked for some stamps that would fit the theme.
And then some dies and accessories that would pair well with all of it.
Do you see those camper dies in the upper left corner? My Favorite Things. I think they are at least ten years old, and they were still wired together. Oh, the shame! I hadn't even used them yet!
For a color palette, I used Concord and 9th's colors from their 2024 release. I have matching envelopes, too.
First up: Campers!
I used some silvery cardstock to make them look like Airtsream campers.
And then I used a Happy Trails camper set from Lawn Fawn (again, an oldie but a goodie!).
Fun!
My husband and I are thinking about campers. We may rent one this summer just to see if it's something we'd enjoy. And if we do, we may buy one for our future retirement adventures. Nothing too big. Just something we can manage between the two of us...and Jemma.
Do any of you enjoy camper life?
Tomorrow, I will share some more outdoorsy cards I created, and tell you how much money I saved by shopping my stash.
Happy Saturday, friends!
