Another Painted Wall
What a weekend. An ice storm blew through town, leaving us without power for about nine or ten hours. Brrr. It was cold! Another good weekend to stay indoors and paint stuff.
This weekend, we painted the back fireplace wall. This is the wall opposite the front door, so it's really the first thing you see.
The above photo is what the back wall looked like on the day we moved in. Since that time, I took down the dark curtains (like, immediately!) and painted the wood fireplace mantel white.
And here it is now:
Lighter, brighter, and so pretty!
I ordered new curtains for this room. Buffalo Check curtains in natural from Ballard Designs, which happens to be the same curtains I used in our dining room in Illinois. I loved them so much, and I know they will be the perfect accent to really finish off this space.
Just a few more walls to paint in this area. This weekend, we will get to the kitchen walls, and then after that it will be the stairwell to the basement.
Our goal? Get it all done by the first week in May so that we can enjoy the nice weather when it arrives. We have a lot of Michigan to explore, and I cannot wait to start visiting the Great Lakes again.
Blessings, cafe friends!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Vikki! It’s finally starting to feel spring-like this weekend. Hoping it’s here to stay,
