I wanted to try making some monogram cards this morning. I say "try" because I'm not sure that I was 100% successful.
For the first one, I combined lots of "stitched' elements. The Stitched "K", with the cross stitch embossed background, with the stitched circle and some stitchy stamps. I don't know. I kinda like it, but I'm not sure if the sequin flowers add or detract from this one.
Then, I thought I'd try something more monochromatic. And in the end, it feels too much like a wedding invitation from the 80s.
Maybe the problem is the black letter in both of them. Too harsh?
I may have to cannibalize these cards later.
Any suggestions?
When I think of monogrammed stationary my minds eye sees the monogram as the centerpiece with the background being blank or 'lightly' patterned. I don't think it is the color of the K as black on white is striking :)
