A Peek At The Deck

The deck is officially done! woo hoo!

And I am so happy with the finished results!

Lou, our deck guy, said that the longer we stay off the deck, the harder the surface will be. So we are going to let it "cure" for about a week before we put all the furniture back on.

Lou was really impressed with Ed's handiwork on the painted pergola.

"You can't even see any brush strokes! It looks as though it was always that color!"

Good work, Hon! When the professionals send compliments your way, then you know you've done a good job. I told Lou that Ed would make a great painter if he didn't already have another job. :)

Lou also said we did a great job matching the colors to the deck and the house. I think so, too.

In an earlier post, I said that we had used Sherwin Williams. Correction: We used Behr Waterproof solid deck stain in Navajo White and Taupe.

The good news is that we have some leftover stain, so I can use that to paint the railings on the front porch. I know it will make a big difference there as well.

Jemma was exhausted from a full week of deck activity. Lucky for me, Lou has had four Goldens, so he knows how silly they can be.

Happy to have another home improvement job check off the list!
