The Search For Biggan's Card Stock

Do you know the card maker Biggan, a.k.a. Birgit? She makes a-MAZ-ing cards that look like little watercolor masterpieces. I am a big fan! I know people who have entire boards dedicated to her cards on Pinterest.

One of the things that everyone seems to love is her use of a more canvas-type card stock to achieve the painterly look. I had read that she used a card stock from Paper Accents. Well, I ordered that from Amazon, not cheap, and it was a big disappointment. It didn't have enough of a well-defined weave, if that makes sense. Not enough texture.

Last month, I was browsing at Tuesday Morning and came across this card stock from Core'dinations. A good weight at 80 pounds, a good white, and from what I could see through the cellophane wrapper, a good canvas texture. I purchased it in white and ivory. the price? Cheap! $2.99 each! I think they sell this at Joann's, but it's at least double the price.

Do I like it? No. I love it! It's really nice quality!

For starters, it did not fray and frazzle at the edges when I cut it down to size. Bonus! And also, it took the ink really well.

Here's my first card with the new Core'dinations canvas card stock:

Here's a close up that shows the texture nicely.

I left off the sentiment. I figure I can add something later when I find an occasion to send it.

Thanks for visiting the cafe today! Blessings on your Friday, friends!

  3. Sweet card and kudos on finding the paper. The texture coordinates well with the stamps. I feel the same about MaryBeth Lopez's white card stock.
