Hello! Frugal Chick here, serving up a cup of "Shoppin' My Stash" blend just for you!
Have you visited Betsy Veldman's new online store, The Greetery? Warning: If you visit, you will want it. All of it!
Betsy used to design for Papertrey Ink, and it seemed as though everything she created was gold. I have a LOT of Betsy's PTI designs in my collection.
Her new company, The Greetery, is very innovative. The look is really original, with a painterly, artistic quality.
She has a coffee set with dies and a matching coffee coaster mat die that I love. But after looking at it, I realized that the stamps are really similar to this set that I already own (and bought used!) from Concord and 9th.
Sadly, C and 9th does not have a die set to match these stamps, but with a little fussy cutting, that is not a problem.
I notice that Betsy does a lot of die-cutting with white card stock, and she uses a lot of Distress Oxides to color in the images. I decided to do the same for this card.
I made the "coffee coaster mat" by first stamping card stock with Concord and 9th's Gingham background stamps. Then, I cut it out using a cross-stitched square frame die from My Favorite Things. The background is Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop die, and the sentiment is from PTI Beautiful Blessings. I simply curved it onto an acrylic block before stamping it onto the coaster image.
{Today's Brew: Let's Chat stamp set (Concord and 9th), Gingham Background stamps (Concord and 9th), Lawn Fawn Quilted Backdrop die, MFT cross stitched square die, Beautiful Blessings sentiment (PTI), Distress Oxides, Gelly Roll white gel pen}
Shopping my stash sometimes takes a little more effort...a stamp from here, a die from here, a little digging into my collection to find what I need. But in the end, I think I did pretty well!
The good news? Santa did give me a gift certificate to The Greetery for Christmas! woo hoo! It will take some time to narrow down my wish list. Too many good things to choose from!
Did you get any crafty presents this year? Blessings, cafe friends!
